The purpose of new clause 5 is already met through existing practice, and that of new clause 6 is also met, as all regulations will be assessed in line with the better regulation framework principles. Similarly, amendment 8 on economic growth is unnecessary. All regulations will be subject to a statutory consultation and require an impact assessment as per the better regulation framework, ensuring that business needs are fully considered. The Bill will allow greater simplification and clarity on product requirements, which should ease burdens on industry.
