Now is a good time to turn to my Amendment 18. It would ensure that, if a child were removed from their parents’ care, subsequent to a family group decision-making process, their corporate parent has to consider, at regular intervals, whether it would benefit them to have relationships with their “family network”, particularly if they would otherwise become a looked-after child. The tragedy of losing daily contact with their parents would be grossly compounded by losing relationships with all those who worked with them—or for them, if they were very young—throughout the family group decision-making process.
