Sentencing Guidelines (Pre-sentence Reports) BillContribution
I turn to my Amendments 4 and 6. I accept that they would not necessarily be the only perfect solution, but they are an attempt to give some coherence to the prohibition in the Bill by permitting the Sentencing Council to prioritise the availability of pre-sentence reports for cohorts of offenders where it has “good cause” for its stance.
