278: Clause 145, page 162, line 36, leave out subsections (1) and (2) and insert— “(1) Subject to the exceptions set out in this section, this Act comes into force on the day on which it is passed.(2) Parts 2 and 3 of this Act come into force on such day as the Secretary of State may by regulations made by statutory instrument appoint.” Member's explanatory statement This amendment and others in the name of Lord Bird would bring the majority of the Act into force on the day that it passes, with the exception of some areas where regulations or consultation are needed.
