So Amendment 387B, in the name of my noble friend Lord Young and others, shows what a resource-sapping, police-diverting bureaucracy there is around all this. We need the police to focus on real crimes, grounded in the law: something material. As a nation, we have strayed from the path. I recognise what is in the government amendment, but I think we have lost perspective and must wipe the slate clean, literally, for those who have been unjustly tainted by this.
