I preferred the original Amendment 387. I understand why it has been changed, but I prefer the idea of mandating the deletion of all historic records of NCHIs within three months of Royal Assent. The government amendment does not directly address what will be done with existing records in relation to their ongoing impact on individuals’ job prospects. As we have cited the noble Lord, Lord Macdonald of River Glaven, so much, I will quote him here, where he says
