This legislation is about allowing the competent authorities here in the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland to enforce legislation that has been formulated and applied by a foreign political entity to part of the United Kingdom. The scope of these regulations is pretty wide, and the noble Baroness, Lady Hoey, has gone into considerable detail about what they cover—everything from heaters to smartphones to tumble dryers, and so forth.
