I am certain that there will be a number of hospices that are unable to absorb this cost. They will be left struggling, with more people dying in needless pain and anguish. As such, the amendment from the noble Lord, Lord Scriven—it is good to see him back in his place—is important to ensure that hospice care can be provided for anyone who needs it: the flexibility that he spoke of.
