In the Transforming Business Rates discussion paper published at the time of the Budget, the Treasury confirmed its intention to deliver a system of digitalising business rates by March 2028. That project will allow us to match property-level data with HMRC business-level tax data. This will help us improve the way we target business rates and secure the type of data that the noble Lord is seeking through his amendment.
