Having said that, I appreciate the Minister’s contribution. I do not agree with her interpretation, and I am sure she will recognise that. I am not a supporter of this Bill, although my party in another place and the Labour Party have both been supporters. At least I have been consistent on that all the way through. This is bad for football and bad for sport and threatens the autonomy of global sport. For all those reasons, I put forward these proposals not as a wrecking amendment but as a genuine constructive legal framework to protect those who propose a football regulator.
