Terrorism (Protection of Premises) BillContribution
On Amendment 31, in the name of the noble Lord, Lord Davies, I again reassure him and other noble Lords that careful consideration has gone into how this legislation will affect all sectors, including the night-time economy. I have made it clear on a number of occasions that there will be a significant implementation period following Royal Assent; it is likely to be 24 months or more. That will ensure that there is time for the guidance to be examined and looked at. The acceptance of the amendment from the noble Baroness, Lady Suttie, will ensure that there is consultation on that guidance. That, in turn, will help relevant parties to plan and prepare in advance of the Bill coming into force.
