House of Lords (Hereditary Peers) Bill

Contribution

The noble Lord must be happy that at least one manifesto commitment is being kept, and it is this one. We will deliver on it. I conclude by saying that it is wrong to single out Peers for their contribution. All Peers have made a tremendous contribution to the work of this House, and no one is undermining that. However, this is a commitment that we have made to the electorate, and it is one that we will keep and deliver on.
