The remedial order goes some way but it is inadequate, for the reasons I have described. Can the Minister tell us when a Bill to address the outstanding matters will be tabled, what will be in that Bill and whether it will remedy the other fundamental defects of the legacy Act? These are people’s lives; these cases involve so many deaths and so much pain. The Government must have the courage to face the past and acknowledge the terrible failings and wrongdoings of agents of the state, as well as the murderous atrocities perpetrated by loyalist and republican terrorists.
