Liberal Democrat — Bicester and Woodstock

Speaking in the House of Commons on 12 February 2025

Debate

Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories

Contribution

I shall, of course. I am sorry, Dame Siobhain; I was taking account of the intervention. I shall be very brief. I am most frustrated by the consistent refusal by Ministers to recognise Palestine. If the Government are serious about working with all partners to restore a pathway to a two-state solution, that cannot happen when only one party enjoys state recognition. Failing to act empowers the extremists on both sides. The time has come to recognise the state of Palestine.
