Tobacco and Vapes BillContribution
My amendments focus on the fact that, despite the welcome additional £70 million for local authorities secured for three years, many local smoking cessation services cannot afford to provide the full range of methods for helping smokers to quit. There has been a lot of success. The number of people successfully quitting with local stop smoking services in England has risen by 34% since 2022-23 from 95,400 to 127,541, but there are still 5.3 million smokers across the UK, and we need a broad approach to help them to quit.
