The Minister has just told us that the government amendments will allow local authorities to keep the full amount of all the fines to spend on enforcement, not just the amount it costs them in court fees or administration. That is very good news; I welcome it and thank the Minister. I am assuming that this will leave local authorities with more money to spend on a wider range of smoking cessation services. With that assumption, I welcome the Government’s compromise and do not intend to press my amendments. Perhaps the Minister could confirm that.
