National Insurance Contributions (Secondary Class 1 Contributions) Bill

Contribution

I just draw attention to the fact that, at this moment, scientists are struggling to explain why we have just had the warmest January on record, given that we have gone from El Niño weather conditions—which is expected to raise temperatures—to La Niña, from which scientists expected to see temperatures fall. We are in an emergency situation. I was trying to think about what impact this Bill might have on climate and nature. To recall some of the other things that we have discussed on other amendments, the impact on charities will obviously have a climate and nature impact, as will the impact on farmers and on councils, including town and parish councils, as I have raised before. All these things will have an impact, but we have nothing that brings together what the whole climate and nature impact will be.
