National Insurance Contributions (Secondary Class 1 Contributions) BillContribution
Taking the £1.3 billion and the £628 million, we see a total financial impact of national insurance contributions on councils and their tied contractors of £1.741 billion. Having given warm words to councils that the cost of NIC would be compensated, as they would be in the health service, the reality is that just £515 million has been allocated to the sector. In essence, that has left councils with a £1.226 billion headache over all the other pressures that I have laid out.
