Southport Attack

Contribution

My Lords, I accept what the Minister is saying but, on this Holocaust Memorial Day, the Times reports the findings of a Channel 4 survey which found that 52% of young people aged 13-27 said that they thought “the UK would be a better place if a strong leader was in charge who does not have to bother with parliament and elections”, while 47% agreed that, “the entire way our society is organised must be radically changed through revolution”. Not only did the internet apparently incentivise or motivate the Stockport murderer, it is producing wider, very worrying, attitudes. What will the Government do to counter these dangerous ideas; for example, by supporting the production of positive content?
