My second area of concern in making this an NHS service—the Bill is not explicit about that, although the Minister has said that it will be an NHS service—is: what strings are attached? I would not want to see the 30% of funding that already goes to hospices from the taxpayer being conditional on those hospices having to participate in providing assisted suicide services. That would be appalling and I want to see that ruled out. That would, in effect, be protected by the amendments from my noble friend Lord Moylan.
