Debate

Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill

Contribution

The amendments from my noble friend Lord Moylan raised important questions. I want to hear from the Minister about funding palliative care in full—if the Government think that assisted suicide should be funded in full, palliative care should be funded in an equal way—and from the sponsor about the risk of setting up a structure where you incentivise the health service to push people towards assisted suicide rather than providing proper healthcare. The latter is a question properly directed at the sponsor rather than the Minister.
