Debate

Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill

Contribution

I am quite shocked, really, by the idea that we would put out a notice. I remember when I was young all the ghouls who used to be outside Wandsworth prison when hangings were taking place inside. To either watch or stand outside a panel hearing intimate details about someone’s life—I am truly, deeply shocked that we would think that this was possible, that someone who is dying, someone who is in a bad state, could have their personal details publicised 28 days in advance. This has to be put aside. I find it extraordinary.
