Respect Orders and Anti-social Behaviour

Contribution

More than a third of people—36%—in England and Wales report experiencing or witnessing some type of anti-social behaviour in their local area, while about a million incidents of anti-social behaviour were recorded by police in the year to June 2024. We must never make the mistake of dismissing this menace as low-level or trivial; to do so would be an insult to the victims. It may manifest itself in different ways in different areas, but wherever and however it occurs there is an adverse impact on neighbourhoods and communities.
