Crime and Policing BillContribution
Amendment 20 from the noble Lords, Lord Davies of Gower, Lord Cameron and Lord Jackson of Peterborough, seeks to add fly-tipping to the list of offences for which vehicles may be seized. We are supportive of this, but—I turn to the Minister to clarify this—my understanding is that these powers already exist and are being used. In fact, guidance was issued just this morning on how local authorities can do more of this stuff. My understanding is that this exists already, so I do not think the amendment is needed. What is needed is greater public understanding and information on those powers.
