The Bill gives Ofwat the power to set rules to require directors and executives to meet standards of fitness and propriety, and to prevent them continuing to hold these positions where they fail to meet the required standards. I hope that the noble Lord is therefore reassured that the Government and regulators take potential conflicts of interest very seriously, and that he is able to withdraw his amendment.
