The Liberal Democrats remain resolute in our demands for an immediate ban on water company bonuses while the sewage scandal continues without further action or consequences. We are determined to push for a parliamentary vote on these matters on Report. We must have an outright ban on bonuses in the Bill, and these amendments would enable that to happen. These bonuses are an insult to the British public, and the Bill is an opportunity to stop this practice that must not be missed. It is a national scandal that these bonuses are being paid out by firms that pollute our rivers, lakes and beaches. These executives are pocketing more and more every year while sewage levels rise day after day. The last Conservative Government let these disgraced firms get away with it, and it is up to Labour to make sure that this practice stops now.
