The legislation sets out that the rules on performance-related pay will have to include standards relating to consumer matters, the environment, financial resilience and criminal liability. There is also flexibility for Ofwat to include standards related to other matters where appropriate. Allowing Ofwat to set out in the rules the performance metrics to be applied will also enable those standards to be more easily amended where it is appropriate to do so in the future. For this reason, I hope that the noble Lord is reassured that the amendment is not required.
