Online Safety Act 2023 (Priority Offences) (Amendment) Regulations 2024Contribution
Many victims advocate the approach favoured by the Revenge Porn Helpline, which is seeking to classify the content as illegal. This would allow authorities to force the platforms to take down the content and use internet service providers and cloud hosts to block access. These measures are already used for CSAM and terrorist content. To quote Professor Clare McGlynn KC, “every day these images remain online is another day of extreme suffering for victims. Legislative action is urgently required as the Online Safety Act does not address this”.
