National Insurance Contributions (Employer Pensions Contributions) Bill

Contribution

Pension adequacy has been raised again and again in this House and elsewhere since this Government took office. We are told it is a priority, yet the Pension Schemes Bill does nothing directly to improve adequacy, and this Bill risks worsening it. To proceed without independent scrutiny would not be merely imprudent; it would be irresponsible. This amendment gives the Government an opportunity to demonstrate that they are not legislating in the dark, and I urge the Minister to support it.
