Victims and Courts BillContribution
This is a piece of legislation that delivers on our manifesto commitment to support and protect victims, restore their confidence in our justice system, and implement swifter and fairer justice. As we have all heard, reform of the system was essential, with record and rising backlogs in the criminal courts and with victims more likely to be an afterthought than a key part of the process. This legislation marks a significant step in rectifying that situation, because there would be no criminal justice system without the victims.
