Chemicals (Health and Safety) (Amendment, Consequential and Transitional Provision) Regulations 2026Contribution
The SI is specifically around the EU-UK interface. Quite rightly, the Government have made it clear that they wish to increase convergence with EU regulations, making exports and the regulatory compliance of the chemical sector far easier. Under the sanitary and phytosanitary regulations, I suspect that we do not have the cards to insist on any great giveaways or divergence from EU regulations when we do those negotiations. Unfortunately, we are now out of the tent rather than inside it.
