Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency

Contribution

I have a taxi driver in my constituency who is stuck in a similar situation. This is not just about people who want to drive; it is about people who have to drive. As our population is ageing, the scale of this challenge is growing. Last year alone, medical licence reviews increased by 16% to more than 850,000. The need to digitise this part of the system is not optional; it is urgent. Some constituents are told not to worry, because they may be able to drive under section 88 of the Road Traffic Act 1988.
