Speaking in the House of Lords on 3 June 2026

Debate

Murder of Henry Nowak

Contribution

My Lords, the Home Secretary said yesterday in her Statement in the Commons that she knows that it is “difficult to wait any longer for answers”.—[Official Report, Commons, 2/6/26; col. 1015.] Why will it take three to four months for this inquiry to take place? These inquiries seem to go on for such a long time, and surely that is a ridiculous amount of time for an inquiry to detail what to look at with this particular incident, which we have seen so graphically and awfully illustrated.
