Railways Bill

Contribution

I would like to ask the Minister for his help, because it appears to be a problem caused by poor-quality design some years ago. The new station was opened some while back under the previous Government’s supervision—I am not criticising them for supporting the rebuilding of the station, but I would like to see more training and understanding of the issue by architects. We need a better understanding of the needs of disabled people, particularly wheelchair users, when getting in and out of taxis at railway stations, in addition to the issue of step-free access at stations. Perhaps it will be possible for me to meet officials in the Department about that important matter.
