New clause 16, in my name, aims to establish a dedicated function with a duty to identify opportunities to expand rail services in a cost-effective and efficient way to underserved and unserved areas across the UK. As the Minister pointed out, other avenues exist by which hon. Members and community groups can pursue the reopening of closed stations. I echo the sentiments expressed by the hon. Member for Caerfyrddin (Ann Davies) on the readiness of the Minister to engage in meaningful and constructive dialogue.
