Debate
Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) BillContribution
I am very grateful to the noble Baroness, Lady O’Loan, the noble Lord, Lord Carlile, and the noble Baroness, Lady Debbonaire, who supported me in my amendment. I drafted it and stand by it, although I recognise that there are some challenges, because I drafted it rather too broadly. Therefore, I am particularly grateful that the sponsors have come forward with their own amendment. It is especially to be welcomed, since it was not until the issue of eating disorders was debated in this House that the sponsors recognised the existence of a dangerous loophole. The Committee can be proud of the job done in identifying this.
