17A: Schedule 1, page 65, line 35, at end insert— “38A In section 140A (unfair relationships between creditors and debtors), after subsection (4) insert—“(4A) An application under section 140B(2)(a) shall not be made, and no action for an order under section 140B shall be brought, after the expiration of six years from the date on which the relationship between the creditor and the debtor ends.””Member's explanatory statement This amendment would retain the six-year limitation period, running from the end of the creditor-debtor relationship, for applications or actions seeking relief under sections 140A and 140B of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 in respect of an unfair relationship.
