Further, on company donations, an additional set of amendments builds on measures in the Bill to strengthen safeguards around political donations and loans from companies and LLPs. These amendments extend and clarify the operation of the new company and LLP permissibility tests in relation to regulated transactions, including loans and other arrangements. They close potential gaps and ensure that the regulatory regime remains effective throughout the lifetime of a transaction, rather than only at the point it was originally entered into, as well as ensuring that the regime reflects economic reality and operates fairly in practice.
