I hope the Minister can confirm that, as the Bill passes through the Lords, the Government will work with those who have brought forward amendments to further strengthen the protections we have in our democracy. As a delegate to the Council of Europe on behalf of the UK, I have seen how Russia’s influence across Europe has changed elections—not just in eastern Europe, but even in France, Germany and others—and we have to take that threat seriously.
