I have heard too many testimonies about that; I have already seen too many colleagues experience threats and intimidation outside their homes. Video footage of people’s home addresses leaves their families exposed and at risk. I am very grateful to the Security Minister for working with me to ensure that that provision was supported by the Government and passed, because it will protect candidates and election officials working for our democracy across parties. It is crucial that we protect people who put themselves forward to ensure that we have a functioning democracy.
