Representation of the People Bill

New clause 48 is tabled in the name of my hon. Friend the Member for Carlisle (Ms Minns), and I hope Ministers will support it. The right to a secret ballot has existed since 1872, yet today many blind and partially sighted voters still cannot cast their vote independently and in secret. I believe that is a basic democratic gap. Minimum accessibility standards for polling stations are long overdue, and I hope that Ministers will back that change.
