There is much to celebrate in this Bill, including the crackdown on dark money in our politics, but the risk of inaction is too great. We are approaching a dangerous tipping point in our politics. Decades ago, parties used to need close to 50% of the vote to win a majority. That has fallen steadily to a low of 34%, so it is becoming easier and easier to use money to buy into the system in order to influence results.
