Automatic voter registration pilots would re-enfranchise many of those who have been lost since voter ID was introduced, and provisions on the independence of the Electoral Commission and greater controls over campaign finance will give people confidence in the system again. I should just say on campaign finance, as people bring up the trade unions, that the trade unions do not finance the Labour party; the trade unions are part of the Labour party. Their members are a part of our movement, and we are proud of the support we receive from the millions of ordinary people who make up this system.
