(3) For the purposes of section 71L(3)(c), (4)(c), (7)(d) and (8)(d) of PPERA 2000 (failure to repay benefits), as they apply in relation to the transaction, the registered party and its treasurer are to be treated as taking the steps described in those provisions as soon as reasonably practicable after knowledge of the matters referred to in those provisions comes to the attention of the treasurer of the party if the party or (as appropriate) the treasurer takes those steps within the period of 60 days beginning with the commencement day.
