Through this Bill, the Government are introducing new requirements to support more effective scrutiny—including through the new long-term strategies. In these, the regulators will need to set out for the first time in one place their long-term priorities and approach for advancing their objectives. This is intended to help Parliament better to understand the regulator’s priorities and how they are translating their objectives into action and results, helping Parliament to carry out its vital scrutiny.
