Parliament will continue to have significant powers to scrutinise the regulators through existing accountability mechanisms. The regulators will continue to notify relevant parliamentary committees on relevant consultations to set out how the proposal advances their objectives. In response to concerns raised in Committee, through government Amendments 37, 47, 48 and 49 these notifications will continue to set out how the regulator has had regard to the two proportionality regulatory principles.
