The Government already have tools for this purpose. Reservists are supported through employment protections, the defence relationship management team, the Armed Forces covenant and employer recognition schemes. These routes are designed to promote genuine, practical and voluntary support from employers, rather than impose a procurement requirement that may be remote from the contract being let.
