On the national board for the regional associations, I have been an advocate for regionalism, for allowing authority to local bodies and Reserve Forces within their regions, but clearly there will be an important role to be played in spreading best practice and co-ordinating the various messages of those regional bodies—as the noble Lord, Lord De Mauley, has pointed out—and representing them at the national level. There seems to be a requirement for some sort of mechanism that enables us to do that—that acts as a bridge between the two.
