The second aspect of my amendment would insert a new Section 7A into the Human Rights Act 1998 to prevent proceedings from being brought under that Act in respect of any overseas operations by His Majesty’s forces. Subsection (4) of the proposed new clause would also exempt members of the Armed Forces from the convention for the period of their deployment.
