Public Office (Accountability) Bill

Contribution

Nor would this amendment enable the Independent Public Advocate to supersede the wishes of the majority of victims of state failure or the decision of the democratically accountable Secretary of State. It would simply enable the Independent Public Advocate to act as the advocate for the victims of state failure and those bereaved by it to try to trigger such a fact-finding decision to get to the truth as quickly as possible.
